… to the Fantasy Fangirls April newsletter!

And just like that, we’ve wrapped up our ACOTAR deep dive and moved into ACOMAF! We’ll be honest, as much as we love this book, the first two episodes were harder to cover than we expected because of the nature of the content. We just finished recording Episode 3, which introduces some of our favorite places and characters, and wow — we’re basking in giddiness as we continue on this journey! We won’t share more details here in case of book spoilers, but we sincerely hope you love these first few episodes and get just as worked up as we did about a certain character before we crank it up to level 100 on the excitement meter with Episode 3.

Today we dropped a fantastic bonus episode with Lauren of Book Huddle, where she shares 18+ fantasy series that’ll help cure your ACOTAR or Empyrean hangover. She is known on social media for her fantasy book recommendations after you’ve finished the Maasverse, and it was an absolute delight to have her on the podcast to recommend lots of other fantasy books!

Quick heads up: Our schedule looks a little different in May to accommodate busy personal life, where we’re combining our Patreon monthly Live Q&A with the monthly Community Event to do one epic ACOTAR Book 1 Trivia on May 19! Lexi has a big family trip at the end of April to early May and then immediately moves into a new home. Wish me luck on the move (and yay, this has been a long time coming and it’s really exciting for my little family)!

What We’re Up To

LEXI Currently….

Reading: I am so close to finishing the tandem read for Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. Then I’ll finally dive into Kingdom of Ash! Or maybe Two Twisted Crowns… or Mistborn.

Theorizing: Being in the thick of ACOMAF Episode 4, I’m deep in Maasverse theory land about the Bone Carver, the Weaver, and the Prison.

Drinking: All the coffee, lots of work to do before this trip!

Listening to: I keep finding myself going back to one of my favorites, Big Gigantic, as I work on our outlines. Such great focus music for me!

Watching: Parks and Recreation has been the late-night wind-down winner recently.

Celebrating: My son’s third birthday this weekend! We’re going to California and spending it with family we haven’t seen in several years, and I’m so excited for him to meet his cousins.

Looking forward to: Our California trip! It’s our first trip as a family of 4 and we’ve been planning it for so long. Disneyland, California Adventure, birthday party for my son, beach, and lots of family time.

NICOLE Currently….

Reading: Because Lauren from Book Huddle basically tripled my TBR, I’ve decided to start with her rec of The Witch Collector by Charissa Weaks. I’m currently on chapter 13 and I’m HOOKED!

Theorizing: We just finished recording episode 3+4 (yes in the same week, we’re tired lol) and in ep 3 we finally go to Velaris, I have been DEEP in my spices theory land… you’ll find out soon.

Drinking: Kirkland Sav Blanc has helped me power through the ICD’s for ep’s 3+4… they get… a little unhinged.

Listening to: TTPD - I’m slowly making my way through the album but I keep going back to listening

Watching: Fallout HOLY GOODNESS! So so so good!

Celebrating: My Godson’s Birthday!! And sending Lexi on a vacation - go rest, girl!

Looking forward to: My Hubby and I are going to a hot springs in CO this weekend for a short one-night getaway. We’re so excited to get away and soak our troubles away!
