As 2024 comes to a close, we’d like to say the biggest and warmest HAPPY HOLIDAYS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you! 🌟

This year has truly been the best and most memorable for both of us and it’s all because of this community. Your enthusiasm, love, and support have brought these fantasy stories to life and together, we’ve created a space where readers can celebrate and connect over these books that have had such an impact on all our lives.

2024 was filled with curing the Iron Flame hangover, our epic ACOTAR deep-dive journey, keeping track of Maasverse connections and theories, in-person events where we got to laugh and hug so many of you, author interviews and creator collaborations, hanging out with our incredible Patreon community for live Q&As, book club, trivia, community events, and on Discord, plus soooo much more as we reflect on this crazy year. Thanks to you, we went full-time with Fantasy Fangirls earlier this year and even brought our Executive Producer Hayden on full-time over the summer. This career is beyond our wildest dreams and we are eternally grateful for this opportunity – Fantasy Fangirls is what it is because of YOU, which is why we will never stop saying thank you thank you thank you!

Looking Back On 2024

LEXI….

Biggest “Pinch Me” Moment: Everything about LeakyCon. Being invited when it’s been on my bucket list for years, then hanging out with actors from HP and GoT (while internally freaking out about how we ended up in the same room with them). Most of all, our very first live show on the main stage and hearing the audience say our intro with us – I still get chills! Then when I was racing to our Meet & Greet and saw a line around the hall… turns out it was for us and my heart filled with gratitude for this community’s support and excitement.

What I’m Most Proud Of: Pushing past my big fear of public speaking. I have never been a presenter (even our live Q&As terrified me at first) and can’t believe how I’ve leaped out of my comfort zone to go on stage in front of hundreds of people. I may be nervous as can be every time, but I’m doing the dang thing and am proud of how far I’ve come with speaking to a live audience.

When I Laughed the Hardest: It’s hard to think of a specific moment when we laugh so much and so often. Our episode recordings take 5-6 hours mostly because we can’t stop laughing, and it’s so special to share that with my sister and do this for a living.

Favorite Business Milestone: Our little family was struggling financially before FFG – and now thanks to this business, we were able to move out of the Fantasy FanParents’ home (when previously, it felt impossible to make happen). Getting to settle into our own space as a family has been the biggest milestone of 2024 because of FFG.

Favorite FFG Episode: ACOMAF Ep 9, which covered Chapter 54. It’s my favorite because of all the behind-the-scenes build-up and work that truly paid off based on your feedback. This was the most daunting, most highly anticipated episode we’ve ever done and we poured everything we had into it!

NICOLE….

Biggest “Pinch Me” Moment: At our live show in Denver, hearing 400 people yell the FFG intro had me almost in tears. I will never forget that sound. Also singing Bang Bang Bangity Bang with you all was INCREDIBLE!

What I’m Most Proud Of: Not a specific moment but a cumulation of them. The late nights, the marathon writing days, the routine of 20,000-word outlines every week – all together, those moments forced me to rethink what I am capable of. Specifically the stories I used to tell myself about my writing, reading, and overall analytical intelligence. I’ve never been prouder of the work I put into the world.

When I Laughed the Hardest: When we covered the throne scene for ACOMAF – I just feel like the entire second half of that episode was non-stop laughter. I’m surprised we made it through without falling out of our chairs. (Honorable mention to every episode’s bloopers – y’all we laugh a LOT.)

Favorite Business Milestone: Officially closing the doors on my old job and going full-time in FFG. Plus getting Lexi in full-time and Hayden. We cannot believe that this little used-to-be baby podcast is now 3 people’s full-time jobs.

Favorite FFG Episode: ACOMAF Ep 9 AKA Chapter 54. IYKYK, this episode was SO anticipated and it felt like the episode we were working towards for months. I am so proud of how we covered it, the response it got from all of you, and really feel like we did that chapter justice.
