… to the Fantasy Fangirls May newsletter!

This past weekend, we attended Fantastique Collection’s Starfall Ball outside of Colorado Springs and wow… just wow, we are still on cloud nine from it. Imagine a big wedding, where everyone shares the same interests and is there to embrace their love for these fantasy worlds. This bookish community is incredible and these types of events bring us together to simply be ourselves and celebrate the real life impact these stories, characters, and fictional places have on us. It was our first event like this and it was SO much fun!

We started the day as vendors at the Morning Starfall Market, where we had ACOTAR trivia for everyone to play, and loved getting to meet authors, small businesses, cosplayers, and other creators we’ve admired and gotten to know online. It was so surreal to give Taylor of Whimsey Gossip the biggest hug, jump up and down with Erin of Sparrow & Wilde (see her shop below!), fan girl over Connor and Maddie from Bardic Book Club, fawn over Nephi Garcia’s gorgeous fantasy dresses, and celebrate the unveiling of Sophistiqué (enter the giveaway for one of these dresses here!)

Best of all, we got to meet fans of the show, talk with you, hug you, dance under the stars with you. We admit that we can get caught up in the day-to-day, working out of our offices and doing everything from a computer/our phones – but going out in public at these fantasy/book events are truly humbling and an honor as we hear directly from you how FFG has impacted you, how you resonate with us, how this show and this community have helped you navigate difficult seasons of life. We know we say this in every newsletter and every episode, but from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of the FFG community. Your support, enthusiasm, and kindness are the reason we do what we do, and we appreciate you so, so much.

What We’re Up To

LEXI Currently….

Reading: Just finished When the Moon Hatched and starting Spark of the Everflame soon, though taking a short breather I focus on our ACOMAF Chapters 44-55 deep dive stretch (IYKYK).

Theorizing: All things When the Moon Hatched as we prepare for our interview with its author, Sarah A. Parker!

Drinking: We set up our Nespresso Vertuo at our new home and I love treating myself to this cup of coffee (or two) every morning.

Listening to: This Colorado Green Chillin’ playlist Jake created for me. Perfect summertime work vibes!

Watching: Slowly but surely watching House of the Dragon, I want to finish Season 1 before the next airs in June.

Celebrating: Moving into our new home! Unpacking and settling in is a slow process, but we’re making progress and I love love love this space to call our own.

Looking forward to: Summer with my family — hanging out in the backyard, grilling, hiking, going to Nicole’s to play at the pool, all the summer activities!

NICOLE Currently….

Reading: After finishing When the Moon Hatched for a third time in less than two weeks… seriously, I was in a BIG book hangover. So I just picked up The Wren in the Holly Library! Hoping it’s just the cure I’m looking for.

Theorizing: All things When the Moon Hatched, this book literally has taken up 99.999% of my brain space right now.

Drinking: Liquid Death Mango Chainsaw, all I can say is brava to this marketing team cause it totally worked on me and I’m so glad it did. This stuff is delicious.

Listening to: ACOWAR Graphic Audio! ACOWAR will be here before we know it and it definitely feels like the ACOTAR book I know the least. So I’m trying to get it under my belt as much as possible.

Watching: Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1, binged it all in one day and I’m just twiddling my thumbs until Part 2 comes out. Carriage scene🥵 

Celebrating: LEXI’S NEW HOUSE!!!

Looking forward to: My pool reopening! It’s been closed for a month for repairs and I’m foaming at the mouth for it to reopen cause I will be living there for the months of June, July, and August!
