… to the Fantasy Fangirls September newsletter!
This week wrapped up our A Court of Wings and Ruin deep dive and we can’t believe we’re heading into the homestretch of our ACOTAR series journey! Up next are two Frost and Starlight episodes, then (dun dun dun) we finish with eleven episodes of Silver Flames. Ending our ACOWAR coverage is bittersweet, like it always is when we finish a book deep dive. We’re both ready to move on (you can imagine some of the themes get repetitive as we near the end of a book), but this trilogy has such a special place in our hearts – even if we’re by no means done with these characters and this world.
While ACOTAR is our deep dive focus, both of us have been devouring audiobooks more than usual this month – maybe because we’ve had a break between live events, or we’re going on more outdoor walks since it isn’t 100 degrees anymore, or we’re obsessed with sharing as many recommendations with you as possible 😉
Whatever the reason, we hope you like the new section of this newsletter where we highlight a few recent favorite audiobooks! You probably know that we tend to listen to books on Audible vs. read, mostly because audiobooks are the only way we can fit reading into our busy schedules. So along with our book ratings, we’re starting to share their accompanying audiobook ratings, too – we hope you enjoy!

What We’re Up To
LEXI Currently….Reading: Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. Theorizing: We’re heading into our deep dive for A Court of Silver Flames, so the Maasverse theories are in overdrive with the Dread Trove and sacred mountains! Drinking: I’m enjoying the last of this summer weather with my iced white wine. Listening to: My kids’ new obsession is “Un Poco Loco”, so naturally it’s been on repeat. Watching: It’s football season! Which means I sorta kinda not really watch with Jake while on my Happy Color app. Celebrating: Four years married and ten years together with Jake ❤️ Looking forward to: Our live show is coming up and I’m both really excited and so nervous! We can’t wait to meet so many of you, and a lot of family and friends are going to see us in action for the first time. | NICOLE Currently….Reading: I am DEVOURING Till Death by Miranda Lyn! Super unique magic system and one of my favorite tropes! Theorizing: With the new Fourth Wing bonus chapter out, my head is REELING! (those cygni gryphon flyers are lookin’ SUS) Drinking: I’ve been a sparkling water fiend recently, my favorite is Waterloo Peach! Listening to: THE ACOFAS PLAYLIST! Do I want to put up my Christmas Tree in September?… maybe. Watching: Just started pt 2 of the newest Emily in Paris season! And I am 100% team Alfie Celebrating: I did a Dry Triathlon last weekend (2000m rowing, 300+ body weight exercises, and a 5k)! I’m still sore and wanted to die during it but I am so proud cause it’s been a long time since I’ve done an endurance challenge! Looking forward to: Every year Brett and I host our own Oktoberfest and we have that going on this weekend! We make a whole food spread, get a bunch of pick-a-6 packs of cider and go to town! (complete with a drunk Mario kart tournament at the end of the night) |
